Henri Herbert Trio

🐘Early Show

Always thinking and experimenting with the form, Henri is not content standing still. "I like trying to push it forward," he notes. "For me, it's mainly about the groove, trying to find new ways to play that beat, new rhythms that are still exciting, finding elements that have not been pushed forward and bringing them out."

NOW Jazz Orchestra

🐘

Michael Mordecai's Monday Night Jazz Jam

🐘

Michael Mordecai has been hosting his Monday Night Jam since 1980. When the Elephant Room opened in 1991 he found it's permanent home sweet home. Many Austin Jazz greats cut their teeth at this unassuming Monday night hang. You just never know who might show up or what musical jam moment might spark the next cool collaboration.

Red Young Organ Trio

🐘Elephant Room

You've heard Red's work on a ton of name artists' albums, in film and television soundtracks. Whether he's playing organ or piano, leading or supporting, he's a powerhouse and Austin's lucky to have him. If you call yourself an Elephant Room regular and haven't heard Red Young . . . well you better get down here cause Red's music is required listening!

Ephraim Owens Group

🐘

The Austin Chronicle says this about Ephraim - "If Austin boasts a Miles Davis – one jazz man, a trumpet icon, that everybody knows regardless of genre knowledge – it’s Ephraim Owens. Backline mainstay in this century’s stand-ins for the Allman Brothers, the Tedeschi Trucks Band, the local horn wrangler took home Best Jazz at the Austin Music Awards last month. Here, he blows a short, sharp solo."

Elias Haslanger Quintet

🐘

“Elias Haslanger is the real deal, a no-nonsense modernist whose Rollins-esque rhythmatics and Coltrane-tinged harmonics surge and soar.” — @jazztimesmag
